Aprilia RXV competition Dirt track concept for JSR Service
With the revived interest in flat track racing around the globe and in The Netherlands as well. A friend of mine; Jan Simon ter Heide from JSR Service, who is a pro racer, decided to take a different approach on the base for the ultimate race platform. Based on the huge success of the FTR 750, which is a 2 cylinder racer designed for the hooligan class with its huge CC. He decided to search for a 2 cylinder middle class CC engine instead of a more common and overall used 1 cylinder plus minus 450cc engine.
Gold was struck with the Aprilia RXV 450 which is a dirt bike and had to be redesigned to fit the specs of a Dirt track motorcycle. With the suspension set, combined with performance parts necessary for the track the bike was given to me as a blank canvas. Designing a suiting sub frame with the movement freedom for the rider to have full control of the bike as well as complementing the set frame design of Aprilia. A minimalistic gas tank suitable for the heat durance of a complete track day. Adding a carbon surface that can be reshaped a relocated to give the best handling for the riders position as pressure points for the knee. This all with a twist of modern lines and details with a hint of the nostalgic line of Flat track motorcycles.
